Man of the Week

Ladies, meet Josh, 25,  a native New Yorker who's an area manager for Chrysler.  Thanks to his girlfriend his grooming habits are on par.  Check out what how this cutie maintains his good looks:

What's in your medicine cabinet?
Aussie Instant Freeze Hair Gel, Head and Shoulders Shampoo, Clean and Clear Face Wash, Tone Body Wash, Clinique Moisturizer, Curve cologne (I know most of these product are girly but I live with my girlfriend so she introduced me to most of these).

What product can't you live without and why?

Curve cologne - I like making my presence know when I walk into a room and sometimes the best way to do that is with a nice cologne.

How would you describe your grooming habits?

Fairly consistent - when I go out I like to look my best. A little scruff, gelled hair, nice watch and well dressed.

Have you ever gotten a manicure or pedicure? Why or why not?

Yes and Yes. I am a nail biter. A frequent manicure stops me from biting. Pedicures only before a vacation.

If you could have one night with any celebrity who would it be and why? More importantly, what would you do?

Jay Z.  I would fly on his Global Express (Private Jet) to the Amalfi Coast, then take his yacht to Ibiza while sipping Mai Tia's, partying like a rock star with him (hopefully Beyonce and Rihanna will be there).

What's the first thing you notice about a woman?

Hair

Do you prefer a woman au naturel or all made up?  How come?

Made up. I like a girl who takes care of herself.

How about down there?

Bare - I'm big on grooming so she should be too.

When it comes to a woman's beauty what's your sweet spot?

A smile - I love making my girlfriend laugh

Mr. Beckham's New Look

It seems that one of People's sexiest men alive, David Beckham, is pulling a Rihanna! The soccer stud was recently spotted court side at a LA Lakers game cheering the team on with an edgy new lock look.  The mohawk-like cut goes down the back of his head in the same style as the front.  As shocked as I was to see the new 'do, I still have one word to describe him: gorgeous.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Rihanna and her edgy look, but I'm calling this one a hair don't.

A Peek Inside A Celeb Swag Suite

While in LA this weekend to do the Emmy's segment for E!, I decided to check out one of the hottest celebrity gifting lounges around at the Kate Somerville Spa.  As soon as I walked in I was served a summer cocktail mixed with raspberry vodka and taken around by one of the Kate Somerville representatives from brand to brand to learn about their exciting new launches, very VIP!

My first stop was at the Clarisonic station where the PR representative introduced me to their newest model which donates 50% to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  Already a fan of the Clarisonic, I couldn't help but wonder how great the new packaged pink one would look on my bathroom sink.  Since I've been doing a lot of traveling, I was given a travel sized one so I'll never miss it when I leave home.  Earlier in the day, the cast of Mad Men stopped by along with Julia Louis Dreyfus and Felicity Huffman who all raved about the Clarisonic too.

I was introduced to the perfumer of Ajne who creates the most intoxicating blends of perfume one would ever smell. Her latest creation was Vanille and she took me through a whole custom blending lesson and blended one in a beautiful little glass bottle entangled in gold wire.  It's such a special gift because it's very personalized.  At the suite she also blended a vanilla musk fragrance layered with soft floral for Denise Richards and a vanilla musk with hints of amber and tobacco for Debra Messing.  She says that men find women who wear a scent with vanilla in it 70 times more sexy.

A jeweler from Paraiba who normally dresses celebs like Rihanna, Neo and Paris Hilton was showcasing his jewels and gave me the inside scoop of what he leant Debra Messing for the Emmys: a 20 karat black diamond ring.  He said that when she put it on her finger her hand was shaking.  That diamond is so big my hand probably would have fallen off!

Fekkai was doing blowouts (Jordana Brewster from The Fast and the Furious was getting one while I was there) and I met the sweetest stylist, Ange Grmolyes who offered to come to my hotel the next day to do my hair for the Emmys.  Thank God for her because she did an awesome job and I knew I could trust her because I love Fekkai in NYC.  

Finally, I made my way to Bare Escentuals, (but not before putting a Sprinkles cup cake in my mouth). There, I was touched up by makeup artist, Dondrae Andolini, with cosmetics from their new Buxom line and color matched with the appropiate foundation shade.  Paris Hilton walked in to say hello when I was in the makeup chair, but when asked if she wanted a touch up her reply was, "No, I don't have time, I have to go to the studio and work."  What exactly is she working on?  

The spa atmosphere was very classy and the ambiance was loungy. All of the brands that participated fell right in line with Kate Somerville's brand etiquette.

Backstage: Charlotte Ronson

This was the first show I've ever been to that had facialists on hand. Facialists from the Cygalle Healing Spa from the Dominican Republic were busy backstage performing ten minute holistic mini facials to prep the models skin before they went into makeup.   

Charlotte Willer, the Global makeup artist for Maybelline lead the team in creating a collaboration of an innocent ballerina meeting the edgy streets of NYC look.  It's a very fresh, natural look with all mineral makeup used on the face.  Maybelline's Lash Stiletto Mascara was used only on the top lashes (the bottom were skipped to keep the look natural) and extra edge came from adding excess blush and illuminator to the cheeks.  Willer finished off the face by dabbing on Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lipstick in Born With it mixed with lip balm.

Tippi Shorter lead the Avon hair team and I was beyond thrilled because I got to interview her for the first time in a long time.  Since she's a stylist to many celebs including Alicia Keys and Rihanna, I used to interview her for Cosmo so it was great to touch base and meet her in person.  See the video in the post below for my interview with Tippi for the Style Coalition.
